Heidy-ho, neighbors! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. As a quick reminder, today is The. Last. Day of our big huge sale at Gorgeous Fabrics. Almost everything is on sale for 25% off, but only until 11:59 PM EDT tonight, so go get ‘em, tigers!
And in other fun news, the latest two videos in the Gorgeous Fabrics University series are now up! The first one is on the classic burn test, “Burn Baby, Burn”
And today the Pressinatrix makes her presence known in “Press that Bad Mamma Jamma!”
Hope you find them helpful and of course,
Happy sewing!
The Pressinatrix video is great. I bought a pressing ham because a beginner sewing book said I needed one, but I never knew what I was supposed to DO with it!!
And good videos they are. Keep up the good work.
I love Gorgeous Fabrics University. They are so informative and you a natural in front of the camera.
Love the videos, you have them just right. Easy to see and hear. Congratulations.
Thank you for the great videos – Please keep the University going!
I’m loving these videos! Excellent quality and content. Thanks!
Great videos – you do them so well. You are easy in front of the camera and give such excellent information in a concise but interesting way. I am enjoying them – hope we can have more! Thank you Ann
Ann, YOU ROCK! Looking forward to lots more videos!
True confession. I already press a lot, so I thought I would listen for a few seconds just to see how you presented the topic. You have a very pleasing voice, well modulated and articulated. I listened to the whole thing!
I’ve not seen the press box (?) before. I googled it and couldn’t find it. Where can I read more about it?
Thanks.
Do you mean the Pressinatrix? That’s a post I wrote about pressing about two years ago.
Love these videos Ann, thank you so much for producing them. I even learnt some new information about pressing!
You know the part in which Ann recommends holding the fabric with tweezers or a hemostat? Believe her. I’ve been torching fabrics for years, confident that I could handle a little swatch of flaming fabric. Tonight I have a blister on the left thumb to indicate that I’m not as nimble, or lucky, as I used to be. Too impatient to go to another room to get the tweezers, too lazy to walk 40 feet to the sewing room for the hemostat…..All I had to do was reach in the kitchen drawer and pull out the bacon tongs, for heaven’s sake…but did I do it? Oh, no…..
I do press heaps but tied the brown paper & found it much easier to use than my pressing stick so thanks
I’ve really enjoyed watching your youtube videos. Thanks for posting them.
