Between work, family matters, and life in general, I haven’t been able to do much sewing since finishing the Donna Karan dress, but I snuck this in.
I won’t bother to review this, since I constructed it exactly like My First Ann Top. The only differences were that this time I used a sold-out cotton/lycra jersey with itty bitty gold pinstripes between the black and white (from Gorgeous Fabrics, of course). This time I made the short-sleeved version. All in all it took less than two hours – actually less than an hour and a half – from flat fabric to finished garment.
One note is that I stabilized the shoulder seams with selvages of silk organza. You know you are a sewing nerd when you use up your silk organza selvages before you use up your silk organza fabric.
Also, I cut the neckline on the bias, rather than on the straight grain, for visual interest.
This is a great pattern!
