"Sew with a Pro" Class - Saturday, November 10, 2018- Noon-4pm
Please note: if you sign up for both November classes (this one and the Sew With a Pro on November 3) before November 3, use the coupon code DoubleSwap, and save 10%
Do you have a project that you want to complete? Are you looking to meet other people who love to sew, and perhaps form new friendships? Do you need some help getting over a technical hump? Do you want to use really cool tools that aren't readily available at stores? Maybe get some help with fitting, or at least some well-formed opinions? Well here you go!
Come to my studio and spend Sunday afternoon sewing with me! Bring your own sewing machine, but I'll have some specialized machines available to you:
- A serger, so you can try one out with my guidance
- A coverstitch machine, so you can try it out, and finish your knit hems just like they do in Ready to Wear
- The Pressinatrix's favorite tools, including a shoulder stand and the impossible to find (or if you can find one, impossible to afford) Press Buck!
You'll be able to use my pressing tools, cutting table and tools, pick my brain, listen to stories, learn some cool stuff, get some serious work done on your project, and benefit from meeting other like-minded sewists in the area. It will be fun, and you'll learn techniques in a casual, supportive environment!
And if folks are up for it after the session is over, we'll go out for appetizers and drinks (soft drinks or cocktails, your choice) down the street.
Please note any after-activity isn't included in the price. That's on your own.
Who Should Take This Class?
This class is for people who have some knowledge of sewing. It is geared towards garments, rather than quilting or home-dec. You can be a beginner or couture or anything in between, everyone is welcome! You must bring your own machine and know how to use it. There may be some fabrics available for sale (cash and carry) at the studio, but please bring your own projects to work on. There are two JoAnn Fabrics within a few miles (one in Burlington, MA, the other in North Billerica) if you need any supplies.
The class takes place in the Gorgeous Fabrics Studio, which is on the 2nd floor. The building is NOT handicapped accessible. You must be able to climb stairs to get to the studio.
