Shirt-Making Class - Saturdays, 10 AM - 1 PM, Oct. 6-Nov 3, 2018
Please note: there is no class on Saturday, October 13, 2018
In this class, you'll learn classic (and some not-so-classic) shirt making techniques. Using McCalls M6932 (an equal opportunity pattern for men or women), you'll learn all aspects of making a shirt from start to finish! We'll discuss and demonstrate how different fabrications affect fit and drape, how to do a perfect shirttail hem, different methods for applying a shirt yoke, tips and techniques for perfect topstitching, some fun variations on a theme, and much more. Whether you want to make a shirt for him or her, this is a class that will give you skills you'll use throughout your sewing life.
This class is for people who have some knowledge of garment sewing and who have had prior experience using commercial sewing patterns.
I'll send a supply list out prior to class. Please bring your own sewing machine, tools and supplies. You will be able to purchase fabrics from me at the class, though that is not a requirement. You are welcome to bring your own fabric.
Class size is very limited so everyone will have enough room and so I can give you each individual attention.
The class takes place in the Gorgeous Fabrics Studio, which is on the 2nd floor. The building is NOT handicapped accessible. You must be able to climb stairs to get to the studio.
And an Added Benefit - Class attendees receive 10% off any purchases from Gorgeous Fabrics until the end of class!
