Gorgeous Fabrics has a New Look!
Happy 2023! It's a new year, and we have a new look. After using the same website format since I restarted Gorgeous Fabrics on my own 6 years ago, Larry and I decided it was time to freshen it up. Thanks to his expertise (I married an ecommerce guru), we launched the GF New Look on January 1st. Let me show you around!
When You First Arrive
The entire site has a clean look that is easier to read and navigate. When you land on the front page,
you will be greeted by the banners, under which you will see the latest fabrics I've added to the site. The feedback I've already gotten is that people love the big pictures that make it easier to see the features of the fabrics.
Buy Now Button
If you see something you love, you can immediately put it in your shopping cart with the "Buy Now" button!
Right below the Latest Additions, you can browse collections of fabrics, from Animal prints to Florals, Knits to Wovens. Also, there are links to allow you to easily find out about shipping and policies, as well as fabrics that you might have missed.
The big pictures also tell you if a fabric is on sale (see the image in the bottom right) or sold out so you know right away.
Tabs for Easy Access to Information
Once you click on a fabric to shop, there are even more great features. As before, we give you a description of the fabric. What's new is that now we have individual tabs for more details. There are tabs for technical information (fiber content, weight, uses, care, etc), sewing patterns and thread colors that we recommend to use with it, and - this is the one that has me totally jazzed - Pantone numbers with a graphic representation of the color, and a link to Pantone's color matching site so you can get a solid idea of the colors in the fabric!
"You May Also Like"
The site will suggest other fabrics you might like, based on your past preferences, the type of fabric you are viewing, colors, etc. It will get "smarter" as time goes on, and one thing I love about it is that it updates recommendations so you always see current offerings!
We've also worked hard to make it easier to order pieces, panels, and yardage. These features are used in all the new fabrics, and we'll retrofit to older fabrics over time.
