I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season! You know, the problem with Christmas and New Years falling on Wednesday is that the week in between feels like even more of a lost time (or should I say "hangover"?) than usual. In Gorgeous Fabrics Land, that's exacerbated by the fact that we are moving the office. The fabrics haven't moved, and neither has much of the furniture yet, but they will all go to the new digs tomorrow when my sons are available to help move everything. In the meantime, Comcast has come and installed the internet, and today, DH took me to pick up my big Christmas present: a brand new Juki DDL-8700 industrial lockstitch machine.
If you followed my old blog, you know that I had one of these for a lot of years. When I downsized/closed the business (to rid myself of a toxic business partner), I sold it, and I regretted that every day since. While I love my Pfaff and Brother, they are no replacement for the power and sew-through-everything-like-it's-butter-ness of this machine. So I was over the moon when DH said he had contacted the local dealer and gotten me one for Christmas. Today we went to Ann's Fabrics in Canton, MA (no affiliation or relation) and picked it up. It now has its place of honor in the new office, and I can't WAIT to start sewing on it!
My sister also gave me these awesome socks for Christmas. She knows exactly what I like!
I hope you had/are having a great holiday season!
